Crafted in 18k Yellow Gold, this customizable Amethyst Engravable Miniature Medallion features a hand-engraved initial or other letter at the center topped with three amethysts—the birthstone for those born in February. Because of its beautiful violet-red color, the ancient Greeks associated the gem with Bacchus, the god of wine.

The word amethyst is derived from the ancient Greek word methustos, meaning “intoxicated," because they believed amethyst could protect the wearer from drunkenness. Historically, royal families have favored amethysts since at least the days of Alexander the Great.
